Taiwan giant panda cuddles doll to form maternal bond before reunion with her injured cub
  • 4 years ago
Yuan Yuan, a giant panda at Taipei Zoo, had to be separated from her cub soon after it was born on June 28, 2020, because she was unable to nurse and feed the newborn after it suffered a minor back injury. Veterinary surgeons created a toy panda cub for the new mother in hopes the doll would help her keep her bond with the baby until they can be reunited.
