Shukla Panchami of Sawan month is celebrated as Nag Panchami 2020. Panchami Tithi is considered to be most important for the worship of the Naga gods. Lord Shiva is considered the snakes. Therefore, forgetting the day of Nagpanchami, one should not worship the living snake but the idol of Nagadevata. According to astrologers, worshiping Nagdev with Lord Shiva on the day of Nag Panchami results in a special fruit. But worship of Nagdev's love should be done in the temple or at home. Apart from this, it is considered auspicious to offer milk to the idol by not feeding milk to the living snake. The reason behind this is that snakes are carnivorous. This organism does not drink milk. Milk is similar to poison for snakes. Which can lead to his death.

सावन माह की शुक्ल पंचमी को नाग पंचमी के रूप में मनाया जाता है। पंचमी तिथि को नाग देवताओं की पूजा के लिए सबसे महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है। भगवान शिव को सांपों का देवता माना जाता है। इसलिए नागपंचमी के दिन भूलकर भी जीवित सांप की नहीं बल्कि नागदेवता की प्रतिमा की पूजा करनी चाहिए। ज्योतिषाचार्यों के अनुसार, नाग पंचमी के दिन भगवान शिव के साथ नागदेव की अराधना करने से विशेष फल की प्राप्ति होती है। लेकिन नागदेव की प्रमिता का पूजन मंदिर या घर में ही करना चाहिए। इसके अलावा जीवित सांप को दूध न पिलाकर प्रतिमा पर ही दूध अर्पित करना शुभ माना गया है। इसके पीछे का कारण है कि सांप मांसाहारी होते हैं. ये जीव दूध नहीं पीता है। सांप के लिए दूध जहर समान होता है। जिससे उसकी मृत्यु हो सकती है।
