The World Health Organisation chief slammed comments made by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who recently alleged that China had "co-opted" the WHO. The organisation’s director general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said on July 23, 2020, that the claims are “untrue and unacceptable” and a distraction from the global coronavirus pandemic response.
