1,951 patients push nation’s COVID-19 tally to 70,764

The Department of Health (DOH) said that 1,951 newly confirmed cases were added to the country’s coronavirus disease (COVID-19) tally on Tuesday, July 21.

The new infections pushed the country’s case load to 70,764. Most of the new cases came from Metro Manila, which logged 1,464 infections. Meanwhile, 90 were from Cebu, 74 from Laguna, 53 from Cavite, and 36 from Rizal.

Recoveries also climbed to 23,281 with 209 new patients who have recuperated. However, two more deaths were reported, raising the death toll to 1,837.

The DOH said that the number of active cases is at 45,646. Of this number, 91.1 percent are mild, 8.0 percent are asymptomatic, 0.4 percent are severe, and 0.5 percent are critical.
