China hit back at comments by British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab who has accused Beijing of human rights abuses against ethnic and religious minorities in China’s far western region of Xinjiang. Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin on July 20, 2020, denied the reports from the UK which allege a campaign of forced sterilisations, and instead cited statistics showing growth in the Uygur population in the region.
