Rare yellow-coloured turtle found in southeastern India

A rare yellow-coloured turtle has been rescued by a wildlife biologist in Balasore, southeastern India.

Rakesh Kumar Mohalik filmed the rare reptile which skin and shell have a unique yellow tinge.

Balasore wildlife warden Prakash Maradaraj said: "Yes really it is very rare species because of Albinism is a congenital disorder, characterised by the complete or partial absence of pigment-I in the skin, hair and eyes due to absence or defect of tyrosine, a copper-containing enzyme involved in the production of melanin in the body."
