700-Year-Old Chinese Building Vs Floods
HUBEI, CHINA — A 700-year-old Chinese temple, half-submerged by Yangtze River floods, still stands.

According to the Chinese outlet The Paper, the temple in China's Hubei province — which was built during the Song dynasty — tells of a China once concerned with quality over quantity. The 700-year-old temple is built on an island in the middle of the Yangtze river which often goes underwater amid the summer flooding.

In the case of the recent floodings which have seen the region receive the second-highest rainfall in half a century, the clip from July 14 shows the temple almost submerged, and according to the report, this isn't the first time.
