Punches and water balloons were thrown as a scuffle broke out again during a vote in Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan on July 17. Opposition party Kuomintang (KMT) protested against the nomination by President Tsai of senior aide Chen Chu to a top government watchdog post. The voting went ahead despite the protests and the nomination was passed.
