S. Korea to designate additional high-risk nations to curb imported COVID-19 cases

The South Korean government will strengthen its quarantine measures against imported cases of COVID-19 as they continue to outpace community transmissions.
It will decide in the coming hours on whether to add the Philippines and Uzbekistan to its list of high-risk nations subject to enhanced quarantine measures.
Arrivals from those countries are subject to visa restrictions and flight control ...and are required to submit negative test results before being permitted entry.
Currently designated countries are Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Of the 39 new COVID-19 cases confirmed on Wednesday, 28 were imported 23 of those detected at quarantine checkpoints.
Total cases now stand at thirteen-thousand-five-hundred-51.
There were no additional deaths, meaning the death toll remains at two-hundred-89.
