Landspout tornado forms before thunderstorm in the Philippines

A landspout tornado was seen sweeping across fields in Nueva Ecija, Philippines on June 15.

Resident Elsie Paculanan recorded the dark grey swirling column of cloud for several minutes before it dissipated.

She said: ''There was a strong rain storm shortly after this happened. I've never seen anything like it before.''

Landspouts forms while a thunderstorm cloud is still growing and there is no rotating updraft with the spinning motion originating near the ground.
