There are also distinctions between the North India and the Almanac of South India. Sawan starts in South India, Maharashtra and Gujarat from July 21 and ends on August 19. Where the Almanac of North India is prevalent, Sawan will be there from July 6 to August 3.

आज से सावन माह शुरू हो रहा है। ये महीना 3 अगस्त तक रहेगा। इस साल सावन माह में गुरु, शनि, राहु और केतु चारों ग्रह एक साथ वक्री रहेंगे। 2020 से पहले ऐसा योग 558 साल पहले 1462 में बना था। सोमवार से शुरू और इसी वार को सावन खत्म होने से इस माह का महत्व और अधिक बढ़ गया है। उत्तर भारत और दक्षिण भारत के पंचांग में भेद भी हैं। दक्षिण भारत, महाराष्ट्र और गुजरात में 21 जुलाई से सावन शुरू और 19 अगस्त को खत्म होगा। जहां उत्तर भारत का पंचांग प्रचलित है, वहां 6 जुलाई से 3 अगस्त तक सावन रहेगा।
