The 3-day practice match for which Stokes and Buttler were named captains comes in the lead-up to the 3-Test series between England and West Indies which marks the resumption of international cricket. Team Buttler finished with 287 runs on the board at Stumps after uncapped opener James Bracey hit 85 with key contributions from Joe Denly and Dan Lawrence. Bracey scored 85 for Team Buttler after opposition captain Ben Stokes handed him an early reprieve by dropping one at slips.
