Not a polar bear! Rare 'white grizzly' spotted in rural Canada
  • 4 years ago
A woman driving near the town of Banff in Alberta, Canada, spotted a rare and beautiful white grizzly bear on June 19.

Filmer Jasmine Johnsen commented: "There have been recent sightings of him and I had my camera ready all through the area hoping to see him!

"By chance, I did, and I was ready to capture the moment on film."

The white bear is believed not to be an albino animal but actually a rare Kermode, or "spirit" bear, which is a subspecies of black bear which sometimes has a white coat.
