Tokyo responded to the news of North Korea's demolition of the inter-Korean liaison office by announcing it would cooperate closely with the U.S. and South Korea.
Japan's government spokesperson Yoshihide Suga said during a daily press briefing on Tuesday that Japan will cooperate with the two countries in gathering and analyzing the necessary information, and will stay alert.
China, meanwhile, did not comment on the demolition, but urged for a peaceful and stable Korean peninsula.
The spokesperson for China's Foreign Affairs Ministry Zhao Lijian said during Tuesday's press briefing that North and South Korea are one country and that China, as its neighbor, hopes that peace and stability on the Korean peninsula is maintained.
