An unprecedented fuel spill has polluted rivers and subsoil near an Arctic power station in Norilsk, Russia. Over 21,000 tonnes of diesel - the volume of 10 Olympic-size swimming pools - spilled from a fuel reservoir that collapsed on May 29, 2020. On June 10, emergency response teams warned a full clean-up would take years.
