Footage of the masts from the submerged wreck of the SS Richard Montgomery, which is situated 1.5 miles north of Sheerness in the Thames Estuary and close to the Medway and Thames shipping channels, at low tide on June 6th.

The WWII wreck is estimated to still have 1,400 tonnes of explosives onboard.

The Government has announced it is hoping to find a contractor to cut off the masts to reduce the strain on the vessel, and has offered £5 million for the job.

The shipwreck is monitored 24 hours a day by the Port of Sheerness and is surrounded by a ring of buoys marking a 500 metre exclusion zone around the wreck, which other craft are not allowed to enter.
