What To Know So Far About George Floyd's Death: Thousands Protest In As Celebrities, Politicians Call For Justice

Outrage is building cross the U.S. with thousands demanding justice over the death of unarmed 46-year-old black man George Floyd, who died in police custody after being handcuffed and pinned to the ground. Footage that went viral showed a Minneapolis police officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck and Floyd telling officers repeatedly that he could not breathe before appearing to lose consciousness. He was later pronounced dead at Hennepin County Medical Center. All four officers involved in the incident have been fired and officer Derek Chauvin was charged with second degree murder and the other officers were charged with aiding and abetting second degree murder. Activists, family members, celebrities and elected officials are demanding the officers be charged, and over 10 million have signed a petition.
