How China is drafting a new Hong Kong national security law at the National People’s Congress

Beijing has announced a national security law for Hong Kong at its annual week-long political meeting which began on May 22, 2020. While nothing is set in stone yet, the law is expected to ban secession, violence and terrorist acts which take place in Hong Kong and are aimed at toppling the central government.
