China sees double-digit rises in Covid-19 infections with local cases in Wuhan and in the northeast

China’s National Health Commission reported the first double-digit rise in new coronavirus cases since April 29, 2020, after at least 17 new cases were confirmed in 24 hours leading up to the morning of May 11.  Seven of the new cases were from abroad, reflecting China’s ongoing fight against so-called imported cases.
