बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के मौके पर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने देश को करुणा का संदेश दिया. पीएम मोदी के भाषण के चंद घंटे बाद कांग्रेस महासचिव प्रियंका गांधी वाड्रा ने प्रवासी मजदूरों का जिक्र करते हुए लिखा कि सिर्फ भगवान की बात दोहराना काफी नहीं, अमल भी कीजिए.प्रियंका गांधी ने ट्विटर पर लिखा, 'मजदूरों को गुजरात से यूपी लाया गया. पैसे भी वसूले गए. आगरा और बरेली जाने वालों को लखनऊ और गोरखपुर ले जाकर छोड़ा जा रहा है. आज बुद्ध पूर्णिमा का दिन है. बुद्ध की वाणी करुणा की वाणी थी. प्रवासी मजदूरों के साथ करुणा भरा व्यवहार हो और उन्हें सहारा मिले.'
