Two days ahead of the third phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra hit the campaign trail in Rae Bareli sharing the stage with her brother and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi. Tearing into the BJP camp Priyanka lashed out at PM Modi over demonetisation and for failing to keep poll promises. Reminding the people of PM Modi's comment that Uttar Pradesh adopted him and that he will work for the state. She countered whether one needed to be adopted to work for Uttar Pradesh? Does Uttar Pradesh need an adopted son? Even youngsters can become politicians and work for UP, she said. Having been credited for making the alliance between Congress and SP possible, Priyanka was criticised and mocked by the BJP for her absence from campaigning.
