Senior U.S. government officials seem to have conflicting views on Washington's economic outlook as the country is witnessing unprecedented economic fallout following the COVID-19 pandemic.
While White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett warned on Sunday that the next couple of months are going to be terrible in terms of economic data,... Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the same day that he expects the U.S. economy to bounce back by the summer.
Hassett also explained that unemployment could hit levels not seen since the Great Depression as businesses in most parts of the U.S. remain shuttered due to the pandemic.
