Victims' Families From Kobe Bryant
Crash Sue Helicopter Company Family members of four of the eight passengers killed
in the helicopter crash involving Kobe Bryant
and his daughter, Gianna, filed wrongful death lawsuits against the companies
that owned and operated the helicopter. The lawsuits, filed electronically in
Los Angeles Superior Court on Sunday, follow a wrongful death suit filed by Bryant's widow,
Vanessa, two months ago. The latest lawsuits name Island Express Helicopters Inc.,
and its owner, Island Express Holding Corp. Unlike Vanessa Bryant's lawsuit, the new suits do not name
the pilot, Ara Zobayan, as a defendant. Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others were
killed in the Jan. 26 helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.
