President Moon Jae-in, speaking with the leaders of Southeast Asia, China and Japan this week, will be stressing the need for regional cooperation in the fight against COVID-19.
The Blue House confirmed Sunday that the ASEAN+3 virtual summit will take place Tuesday at 4PM, local time where leaders will be seeking ways to boost coordination and to minimize the socio-economic fallout.

"President Moon will be suggesting that the countries step up cooperation in healthcare. He will also stress the need to maintain global supply networks and allow essential human exchanges and travel to minimize the negative impact on the global economy."
The Blue House added that leaders are expected to adopt a joint statement.
Vietnam will be leading the session as this year's ASEAN chair country.
A similar meeting was held between the leaders of the Group of 20 last month where they vowed to do "whatever it takes" to overcome the coronavirus pandemic and lessen its human and economic impact.
