The foremost exponent of the concept of having 12 months in one harvest year, was given in the most ancient literary texts; the Vedas! The ancient scripture states that ‘A year consists of twelve months’. It is because it was written in this literary text, that the world has come to accept that a year must consist of 12 months. While most parts of the world follow the Gregorian calendar and celebrate the New Year day on 1st January every year, the different communities in India have their own special days, which the community members celebrate as New Year’s Day. The different regions have a chosen day for celebrations based on whether they follow the Lunar calendar or the Solar calendar.

25 मार्च, बुधवार से प्रमादी नामक नया विक्रम संवत्सर आरंभ हो रहा है जिसके राजा बुध एवं मंत्री चंद्र देव हैं। रूद्रबिशंति के 7वें एवं संवत्सरों में सैंतालीसवें प्रमादी नामक संवत्सर भारतवर्ष और यहां की जनता के लिए मिलाजुला फल कारक सिद्ध होगा। इस संवत्सर में फसलों की पैदावार तो अच्छी होती है किंतु समाज में प्रमाद की भी अधिकता रहती है और सांप्रदायिकबाद बढ़ता है। कहीं ना कहीं समाज में अविश्वास एवं और अस्थिरता का माहौल रहता है किंतु, देशवासियों के लिए सुखद समाचार यह है कि इस वर्ष दसाधिकारियों में सूर्य, चंद्र, बुध, बृहस्पति और शनि का प्रभाव अधिक रहेगा जिसके फलस्वरूप देश की आर्थिक स्थिति में सुधार होगा और न्याययिक व्यवस्था में मजबूती आएगी।
