Monkeys swarm Indian man who organises daily feasts for the creatures

An elderly holy man in northern India has become well known for his love for monkeys as he organises feasts for the animals on a daily basis.

Shyam Sadhu is an Indian social activist and environmentalist from Rae Bareli district of Uttar Pradesh, where he is known for organising "Vanarbhoj" or feasts for monkeys.

He says instead of offering sweets and fruits to the idol of Lord Hanuman in the temple, people should serve and feed the living monkeys, as monkeys are considered the personification of Lord Hanuman.

Sadhu has been doing this for several decades. He spends all the money he receives or he has on these animals.

The footage was captured on February 18.
