Taiwan has announced new restrictions on citizens of Hong Kong and Macau entering the island amid the global outbreak of a novel coronavirus. Starting on Friday, February 7, 2020, all visitors from the two cities must go into quarantine for 14 days either at home or a hotel after they land on the self-ruled island. The restrictions announced on February 5 follow an earlier travel ban imposed for travellers from the Chinese mainland.
