According to the Goddess Bhagavata Purana, Kalratri form of Maa Durga is worshiped on the seventh day of Navratri. Mother Kalratri always blesses her devotees and gives auspicious results. Therefore, the mother also got a name 'Shubhankari'. Mother removes all fear of her devotees. In order to get the blessings of the mother, devotees should worship the mother with Ganga water, panchamrit, flora, gandha, akshata.

देवी भागवत पुराण के अनुसार, नवरात्रि के सातवें दिन मां दुर्गा के कालरात्रि स्वरूप की पूजा की जाती है। मां कालरात्रि सदैव अपने भक्‍तों पर कृपा करती हैं और शुभ फल देती है। इसलिए मां का एक नाम ‘शुभंकरी’ भी पड़ा। मां अपने भक्‍तों के सभी तरह के भय को दूर करती हैं। मां की कृपा पाने के लिए भक्‍तों को गंगा जल, पंचामृत, पुष्‍प, गंध, अक्षत से मां की पूजा करनी चाहिए। इसके अलावा मां को गुड़ का भोग लगाएं।
