CDC Reveals America's Laziest
and Most Active States The agency based its analysis on
phone interviews conducted across the U.S. The data was compiled
between 2015 and 2018. Outside of their normal job, people were asked if they had
exercised or done any physical activity in the past month. According to the study, seven states had the
highest rate of inactivity at 30 percent. The seven states were Louisiana,
Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma, Arkansas,
Tennessee and Kentucky. So which states are
the most active? Utah, Washington, Colorado, Oregon and District of Columbia claimed the title. In these areas, the study says less than 20 percent
reported inactivity from the phone survey. How much physical activity
does one need? On a weekly basis, the CDC says you should reach about 150 minutes.
