Kerala Assembly's resolution against CAA has no constitutional validity: Governor Arif
  • 4 years ago
Calling state assembly's resolution against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) ‘illegal and unconstitutional’, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan said that it has no validity. Governor Khan said, “They are only making a demand. This resolution has no legal or constitutional validity because citizenship is exclusively a central subject, this actually means nothing. I have already made my views public that we should not spend government’s time and resources on issues which are beyond the jurisdiction of the government. But I respect if some people are in view and they are making a demand to the central government, then I have no problem. This resolution has no constitutional or legal validity.”
