Close-up footage shows the bushfires raging through the Blue Mountains near Sydney on December 15.
The filmer told Newsflare: "I hid inside a bunker room, laying low to escape the smoke. Others couldn't get there and had to shelter outside behind a building. We were well prepared but in the end, the firestorm was so quick that we were caught out. It was scary."
