The all-important goods and services tax (GST) council is scheduled to meet tomorrow and take stock of the several niggling issues that are a taking a toll on the collections. The centre's total GST mop-up so far this fiscal is around Rs 3.26 lakh crore. That's less than 50 percent of the centre's budget estimate. CNBC-TV18 understands that the council is likely to focus on rate rationalisation and corrections in the slab structure, among others in order to give GST revenues a fillip.
