Police officer confronts Extinction Rebellion activists leaving coal outside Tory HQ in London
  • 4 years ago
Climate change activists from Extinction Rebellion dressed as Santas left coal outside the Conservative Party HQ in London on Wednesday (December 11) for "naughty" Tory MPs, in particular, Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

A police officer on the scene told activists the coal dumping was "fly-tipping" and "terrible", and called out the irony, "what do you stand for? Saving the environment? That [coal] doesn't belong there, does it?"

Activists tried to defend the stunt as "symbolic" and a "present" for Boris Johnson. One who dumped the coal said, "they should arrest Boris for leaving all the plastic in the ocean and he's polluting the world".
