George Zimmerman Sues Family
of Trayvon Martin for $100 Million.
Zimmerman is also suing
the Martin family attorney,
Ben Crump, as well as others.
The former neighborhood
watch volunteer claims he's been
victimized since he shot and
killed Trayvon Martin in 2012.
Zimmerman's lawyer claims that a book
published by Crump in October constitutes
defamation because it implicates Zimmerman
in the "genocide of colored people.".
Crump has called the lawsuit
"unfounded and reckless," saying
it's "a shameless attempt to profit
off the lives and grief of others." .
This plaintiff continues to display a callous disregard for everyone but himself, re-victimizing individuals whose lives were shattered by his own misguided actions, Ben Crump, Attorney for the Martin Family, via 'USA Today'.
Zimmerman was acquitted
of the murder of 17-year-old
Trayvon. The killing occurred in
a Central Florida neighborhood.
Zimmerman shot the unarmed
teenager following a confrontation. His claim of
self-defense was found credible by a Florida jury.
Zimmerman has become increasingly
controversial. He auctioned the gun he
used to kill Trayvon on eBay, and has
had several run-ins with the law
