Dozens of colourful 'light pillars' were spotted in northern China.

The rare phenomenon was filmed in the city of Hulunbuir in Inner Mongolia on November 28.

A light pillar is an atmospheric optical phenomenon, which is caused by the reflection of light from ice crystals in cold weather.
