Uganda’s total road network is estimated to be 129,469 Kilometers long. Of this, the community access roads constitute 50 percent, 26 percent are district roads, seven percent are urban roads, and seventeen percent are national roads.

The urban congestion here in Kampala increases at an estimated rate of 4.5 percent every year. In August 2011, Toyota registered the highest sales of 718 vehicles, followed by Motorcare Uganda which sold 309 cars.

In December 2018, commercial car sales report was at one thousand one hundred fifteen (1,115) units, a significant increase from one thousand eighty six (1,086) units in December 2017.
This implies a significant impact on the road network around Kampala and across the country. The Kampala–Entebbe Expressway is a 51 kilometer four-lane toll highway that was constructed to address the traffic congestion around the two routes ( Kampala and Entebbe)
