Former President Obama warned Democrats against going too far left.

Former President Barack Obama has warned Democrats about going too far left in trying to win back the White House in 2020.
While speaking before the prominent liberal donor group Democracy Alliance on Friday, Obama said: "This is still a country that is less revolutionary than it is interested in improvement. They like seeing things improved. But the average American doesn't think that we have to completely tear down the system and remake it. And I think it's important for us not to lose sight of that."
He was also quoted as saying, in part: "We also have to be rooted in reality and the fact that voters...are not driven by the same views that are reflected on certain, you know, left-leaning Twitter feeds. Or the activist wing of our party."
Though Obama reportedly did not name any names, media outlets have suggested he was making pointed references to progressive candidates Senator Bernie Sanders and Senator Elizabeth Warren.
Nevertheless, the former president did tell the audience he would "work [his] tail off" for the Democratic nominee.
