In the two-wheeler space, Hero Electric has launched a 'code green' initiative as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to combat air pollution. The initiative will see the company distributing masks and the first 30,000 customers will also get a complimentary green helmet. Speaking to CNBC-TV18’s Areeb Sherwani, the company's managing director Naveen Munjal, who is also the president of Society of Manufacturers for Electric Vehicles (SMEV), said that the government needs to do a lot more to incentivise electric vehicle (EV) demand. He also stressed on the need to improve the provisions of the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India (FAME) II policy.
