8 out of 10 CEOs of domestic firms are professional business managers

Data show these days the vast majority of Korea's biggest companies are run by professional business managers... rather than family owners like in the past.
According to a study by CEO Score, professional managers are in charge of 83 percent of the country's top 500 companies.
The figure has been rising steadily in the period studied, since 2012 when it was at 77 percent.
A little under half of the CEOs were recruited from within their companies.
For those scouted from outside, the most popular source for them was Samsung... at 15-and-a-half percent.
