High waves destroy foundations of planned peace memorial in Indonesia

The construction of a peace symbol building called "The Peace Dove" in Padang was halted when massive waves swept away the foundation stones on Tuesday (November 5).
The video shows destruction caused to the memorial platform and tape cordoning off the area.
One resident of the city of Padang told Newsflare: "Waves with a height of about 4 meters last week not only destroyed the construction of the back of the peace monument but made the coastline in Padang city shift."
Padang city government are set to immediately rebuild the monument area, which is a symbol of peace between maritime countries in Indonesia, because of the economic benefits of this tourist attraction.
