Protesters and Hong Kong police clash in violent stand-offs on both sides of Victoria Harbour

Four anti-government protests were planned in Hong Kong on Saturday November 2, 2019. In Victoria Park, protesters held “election meetings” after police rejected an application for a proposed rally there. Before the event began, tensions flared up around the park. Crowds marched from Causeway Bay to Wan Chai and then to Central and Sheung Wan, chanting slogans, building barricades and vandalising shops, businesses and MTR station entrances along the way.
