President Moon Jae-in's mother passes at age of 92

President Moon's mother passed away on Tuesday at the age of 92.
According to the top office Kang Han-ok... was suffering from a chronic illness and had been hospitalized in Busan, the President's hometown.
"President Moon, following the wish of his late mother, will hold a private funeral with family members only. The president has respectfully declined visits by mourners as well as condolence flowers."
Moon was reportedly present when she passed away.
This is the first time in South Korean history that a sitting president's parent has died,
Cheongwadae said the president wishes to handle the funeral privately,... with a three-day mourning period expected to follow.
Born in Hungnam district in North Korea before the Korean War,... she supported and raised her children all by herself, following the death of her husband in 1978.
Moon had previously expressed hopes of visiting North Korea with his mother when reunification becomes a reality.
