National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang will refer four key reform bills placed on a fast track last year, to a plenary session set for December third.
The speaker's spokesperson Han Min-soo made the announcement on Tuesday, after the fast-tracked bills completed their 180 day review by their respective standing committees on Monday.
The main opposition has been strongly against the bills, which include proposals to set up an independent unit to probe corruption allegations involving high-ranking public officials and an electoral reform bill that will introduce a mixed-member proportional representation system.
Han told reporters that if rival parties reach an agreement before December 3rd, the National Speaker will be willing to bring the bills to a vote at a sooner date.
