A delegation of European Union (EU) parliamentarians will soon leave for visiting Jammu and Kashmir from the national capital on October 29. The delegation of 27 EU MPs is scheduled to visit Kashmir today. The visit comes on the heels of a US Congressional meeting in Washington, where a group of lawmakers expressed concern about the situation in J&K following the Centre's move to end the state’s special granted under the Constitution and bifurcate it into two union territories. Their visit will give them a clear view of the development and governance priorities of the J&K region. This is the first visit by an international group in Jammu and Kashmir since the Centre's move.
