The Government has decided to allow senior citizens and person with disability to cast their vote through postal ballot. The Ministry of Law and Justice has amended the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961, allowing senior citizens and person with disabilities in the absentee voter list. The absentee voter refers to a vote cast by someone who is unable to go to the polling station.

चुनावों में मतदान का प्रतिशत बढ़ाने के सरकार ने एक बड़ा कदम उठाया है.सरकार ने 80 साल से अधिक उम्र के बुजुर्ग और दिव्यांग मतदाताओं को डाक मतपत्र से मतदान करने की सुविधा प्रदान कर दी है. सरकार के इस कदम से अब दिव्यांगों और बुजुर्गों को वोट डालने के लिए मतदान केंद्र जाने की जरूरत नहीं होगी. वो घर बैठे ही अपने मताधिकार का इस्तेमाल कर सकेंगे.
