North Korea insists no person is "forcibly detained" by the regime,... the denial coming in response to questions about eleven South Koreans who were kidnapped by North Korea after a plane hijacking in 1969.
In its letter to the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention,... North Korea said the regime rejects the claim that the South Koreans are being held against their will.
It added it's another "anti-Pyeongyang scheme" for political purposes that hides behind human rights.
This comes after South Korean activist Hwang In-cheol submitted a petition to the UN in May...asking to it review the case of his father and confirm he is being forcibly detained by Pyeongyang.
North Korea released 39 passengers in 1970, a year after the hijacking,... but the remaining eleven South Koreans, including Hwang's father, are yet to return home.
