China’s economic growth plunges to a new low of 6.0 per cent amid US trade war

China’s economy recorded a gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of 6 per cent in the third quarter of 2019, the lowest figure since records were first kept in March 1992.  The country’s National Bureau of Statistics released the figure, which was down from 6.4 per cent growth in the first quarter and 6.2 per cent in the second quarter of the year.
