Number of S. Korean tourists to Japan cut by 58% y/y in September

The number of South Korean visitors to Japan plunged nearly 60 percent on-year in September,... following a 48 percent drop in August.
The data, released by the Japan National Tourism Organization, on Wednesday showed about 200-thousand South Koreans travelled to Japan last month,... a sharp tumble compared to some 470-thousand visitors a year ago.
The decline started in July when Tokyo imposed export restrictions on Seoul.
The economic measures triggered a voluntary boycott movement among South Korean citizens to stop buying Japanese products and not travel to Japan.
