National Assembly Speaker calls on global parliaments to support denuclearization drive

South Korea's National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang has called on parliaments around the world to support the denuclearization process on the Korean peninsula.
During his keynote speech at the International Parliamentarians Union in Serbia on Monday,... Moon said,... a nuclear-free peninsula will lead to peace and prosperity... not just in Northeast Asia,... but around the world.
He noted that, while denuclearization talks are currently at a standstill,... the peninsula is where promises and agreements have to be based on trust.
And despite difficult circumstances,... Moon said, the related parties need to continue to talk,... and that the process needs global cooperation to bear fruit.
