Former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama visited South Korea's port city of Busan to pay tribute to the Koreans engaged in forced labor during Tokyo's colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula.
On the second day of his two-day visit to South Korea, Hatoyama visited the National Memorial Museum of Forced Mobilization under Japanese Occupation on Saturday.
There, he expressed hope that more Japanese people would visit the site and learn more about that period of history.
The previous day, he delivered a lecture at Pusan National University, where he said Japan should continue to apologize for its wartime atrocities.
